Travel storytelling is about capturing a sense of place. Our 3-Day New Orleans and Wetlands Workshop kicks off with a classroom lecture about approaches to travel photography storytelling, including a discussion of story angles/themes and mood, aesthetic styles, lighting, composition and recommended camera settings. Comprised of on-location shoots and two in-class critiques, this immersive 3-day workshop is appropriate for photographers at beginning, intermediate and advanced-intermediate levels looking to refine a unique storytelling voice while also receiving hands-on feedback in the field and in the classroom.
Why New Orleans? Why the wetlands? Bursting at the seams with energy and history, New Orleans is a city with an undiminished appetite for a good time. The Crescent City is full of of sensory indulgences, from food to music. A visit to experience the haunting beauty of the swamp is also in order to better understand this vibrant city that is surrounded and defined (historically and culturally) by the water on all sides.
